Guest Acknowledgment and Waiver

Please read the following carefully before your stay.

Welcome to our Creston Valley Geodesic Dome & Camp! Staying here offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature. However, the property presents inherent risks associated with its remote, off-grid nature, mountainous terrain, and proximity to wilderness. By proceeding with your stay, you acknowledge these risks and agree to follow all property rules and safety guidelines.

Key Acknowledgments:

• Access & Driving: I understand that access involves forestry roads (Foster Rd/Goat Mountain FSR) and a steep, rough private driveway to the dome site. AWD/4x4 vehicles are strongly recommended. I agree to drive slowly, cautiously, and attentively on all property roads, acknowledging the terrain hazards. I understand I can choose to walk the final descent (~600m). I accept full responsibility for my vehicle and driving decisions.
• Fire Safety: I understand that fire safety is critical. I agree to strictly adhere to ALL local fire bans (checking current status). I will use ONLY the designated wood fire pit or provided gas fire pit. I will NEVER leave any fire unattended and will ensure any wood fire is completely extinguished (soaked, stirred, soaked again until cold) before leaving the area or sleeping.
• Trees & Natural Hazards: I acknowledge the property has natural terrain and is surrounded by forest. I will be mindful of potential hazards such as falling branches ('widowmakers'), especially during windy conditions, uneven ground, and slippery surfaces. I agree to wear appropriate sturdy footwear.
• Wildlife Awareness (Bears): I understand this is bear country and other wildlife may be present. I agree to securely store ALL food, beverages, and garbage inside a vehicle or designated bear-resistant containers. I will not leave food or scented items unattended outside. I will make noise when moving around the property and carry bear spray (knowing how to use it is recommended).
• Off-Grid & Property Rules: I acknowledge this is an off-grid property with no running water (an outhouse is provided). I agree to follow rules regarding waste disposal (pack-it-in, pack-it-out or use designated bins), pet control (kept under control), and quiet hours (minimizing noise after 11 PM).

Agreement and Release:

By staying at the property, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to abide by all the rules and safety guidelines provided (including those detailed here and in the Rules Guide and Access Guide). I voluntarily assume all risks associated with accessing and staying at this property, including but not limited to risks from driving, fire, natural hazards, and wildlife encounters.

I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, assigns, administrators, and executors, hereby release, waive, and discharge the property owners from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me or any property belonging to me, while accessing or staying at the property.
